What Causes Boils

What are common Causes for Boils?

Most of the time boils just sprout out on a certain part of our skin. It makes us think what causes for it to grow on our skin. And we think what we may have done in the past that may have caused this boil.

There are several causes and reasons why boils appear and occur on our skin. Boils can be caused by ingrown hairs. Some can be caused by a splinter or other foreign matter that accidentally got lodged or inserted in our skin. Some boils, that are also called cystic acne is caused by clogged sweat glands or oil ducts.

Our skin is a part of our immune system. It shields us from foreign materials and bacteria that can enter and infect our bodies. Once we have any skin opening, that is caused by a cut, wound or scrape. Abscess can easily develop. Like with boils.

Majority of boils that occur on our skin is caused by a bacteria called, Staphylococcal. This bacteria enters our body through small cuts or scrapes on our skin. Once this bacteria enters our body it travels to the hair follicles.

But people with these condition, (which will be mentioned later on) our more prone to have boils or they can easily have boils.

People with:
- Diabetes
- Kidney problems
- Dirty living condition
- Problems with their immune system
- Poor nutrition
- Bad hygiene
- Long exposure to harsh chemicals

Majority, any person can have boils. But if you have any of these conditions, as we have mentioned above. It is easier for you to get infected and have a boil. There are some over the counter medication for boils. But the key is to have good hygiene. Not only good hygiene, but also clean surroundings. It minimizes the risks of you having a boil if you maintain your place clean.

Eat healthy food and don’t eat too much instant and fast food. Because these kind of food tend to have high oil content and as a result your oil ducts will get easily clogged.
